![]() The placenta is attached to the lower part of the uterus in the early stages of pregnancy and with time moves upwards and settles in the upper half of the uterus. If you have low lying I believe if it’s a certain distance away from the cervix you’ll be fine and usually no restrictions so it may be close enough to the cervix that they want to stay on the side of caution. A low-lying placenta is attached to the lower region of the uterus in close proximity to the cervix, as against its usual position of upper or side upper regions in a normal pregnancy. They will check my placenta again when I am 28 weeks to see if there was more movement. I am 23 weeks will be 24 weeks on Friday. Mine has moved since my 20week appointment but it’s still covering the cervix so hopefully it moves in a few weeks and I can be cleared of all restrictions. ![]() I would try to take it easy at least until the placenta moves. I had 3 miscarriage last year so I totally feel where you are coming from. I was allowed to pick up my daughter and walk my two huskies, but then I had my first small bleed last Saturday and passed some blood clots on Sunday so they have me out of work until my next drs appointment to see whether I will stay completely out of work or go back and be on light duty. I was told by my dr absolutely no sex and nothing in the vagina. Hello! I have complete placenta previa, which means my placenta completely covers my cervix. What would you ladies do in my situation? I feel like I can’t get any help from the medical professionals and that I’m basically just a number to them. I’ll be a first time Mum and I’m worried about the whole situation. This is my rainbow baby after having a miscarriage last year. I’ve already been suffering with so many aches and pains in my back and legs that some nights I barely get enough sleep and I’m only 22 weeks 5 days. I’m worried that carrying my heavy equipment and products and stuff plus cleaning being strenuous work to begin with will put too much strain on my body and affect the placenta. The no sex part is fine with me but I’m worried about my working situation. I’ve tried calling my GP for her opinion on the situation but the receptionists won’t let me speak to her without an appointment and it takes about 2 weeks or more to get an appointment anyway. I’ve tried calling the OB department to get some more information but they said they would only let me talk to the midwives which I said no because it’s completely pointless if I’m going to get conflicting information. Yesterday I had a midwife appointment at the same hospital and they said an OB wouldn’t have said that to me and basically have sex and do whatever I want. Last Thursday (2 weeks after my scan) an obstetrician called me to say I can’t have sex and absolutely nothing in the vagina because I have a high risk of bleeding. At my 20 week scan I was told I have a low lying anterior placenta.
